The 2009-2010 Renegades were the best team in the Howe Conference at the end of last season, but do to expiring contracts, changes still had to be made. The Renegades believe that their changes have made their team stronger.

Based on Renegade scouts, Teemeu Selanne and Adam Foote were the best players on the free agent market, despite their age, based on an accumulated score of important attributes for forwards and for defenders. Selanne scored a 342 leading all forwards. Second was Justin Williams who scored a 332. The Renegades scouting department also thought they got a steal for a back up goal tender. Using this same scoring attribute system, Mike Morrison was ranked 3rd out of the 14 available goal tenders on the FA market this year (Not including DiPietro). Morrison was only behind Rinne and Budaj. Brent Johnson, who was the back up goal tender last year, was tied for 6th out of all 14 goalies with Brian Finley. Speaking of Finley, the Renegades also signed him to a minor league contract to split goal tending duty with Beauchemin in Albany. Yan Stastny was also signed to play for Albany to help send that team back to their own playoffs.
