Yippy! Yip joins the Renegades!

The Renegades made their second trade of the postseason acquiring right wing Brandon Yip from the Toronto Thunder.  The Renegades, who were the regular season Howe Conference champs last year, taking the conference lead for the first time all season after the final game of the year, felt they needed more young fire power in their roster.  The Renegades GM Jordan Levine had this to say about the trade:  "Brandon Yip has shown a lot of talent and a lot of potential last year for the Thunder, if he can keep from getting injured, he could be one of the top players in on the Renegades in the future."  In order to acquire Yip, the Renegades did have to give up their first round pick of this years draft plus next years 4th round pick, along with the rights to negotiate a new contract with Marty Turco, whose contract expired after last season.  Turco became dispensable after the Renegades acquired Craig Anderson from the Havoc a few days ago.
Because the R-Gades acquired Yip, it is expected that Dustin Byfuglien will vacate his 3rd line RW position for Yip, and go back to playing defense as the Renegades are lacking in defense do to losing UFAs Shaone Morrison and Sami Solo to free agency.  The last defensive spot will either go to a free agent or Renegades promising defensive prospect Kevin Shattenkirk.

The R-Gades have announced though, that trading rights for Morrison, Solo and Brent Johnson are still available for little to nothing if any team that has yet to re-sign UFAs are interested.
